What is RLS?
Row-Level Security: a database-level access control mechanism that ensures strict data isolation between tenants. Policies are enforced at the database layer, preventing cross-organization data leakage.
In a multi-tenant compliance platform, row-level security means every database query is filtered by policies attached to the data itself — a user authenticated to one pharmacy physically cannot read another facility's records, even if application code has a bug.
For regulated data this matters because isolation is enforced at the lowest layer rather than depending on every screen and API applying the right filter.
